On May 31st 2010 and at the age of 98, a great lady has passed away. Born in 1911 in the parisian suburbs, she only spent a part of her youth in France before leaving for New-York with her husband in 1937. She established in Chelsea and this is where she has lived until 2010.
She was a complete artist, and left us with various creations. All of them refer to recurrent themes in her work : the introspection, the relationship to others, and the fragmentation of the body.
For the Camden Spirit collection, Maloles Antignac was especially inspired by her work on textiles. The color associations, the material patchworks, and the plays with lines gave birth to graphic and elegant shoes, like the BETTY.
